Minds wander back and forth
Searching for that one answer
Always trying to move forward
Trying to find the perfect her
Time stands still when he notices that smile
She walks on by like it meant nothing to him
But he is taken to a place much different
A place that he longs to be
He does all that he can to read her mind
To find that one thing that makes her tick
But he has no luck
He just can’t seem to unlock her secrets
Her stories make him smile
Her laughter is music to his ears
But he knows that he is not good enough
He knows that she will find someone new
His heart is made of gold
He yearns to share that with another
But his time has yet to come
He wonders if this is it
She is complicated
She is beautiful
She has his number
And he can’t win
The mind wanders back and forth
Searching for something to hold onto
But where will his thoughts lead him?
